Starting Again..., Again!

Apparently the Universe has decided it’s time I got my act together.
Well, here we are. A week of New Beginnings, Bad Prawns & a Mug Cake.
And is it just me, or are the weeks flying by?
So fast that I’m not sure I’ve even done very much worth talking about this week,
And yet, looking back, quite a lot seems to have happened.
It was one of those weeks where the big stuff and the ridiculous stuff somehow sat side by side.
There was Reiki, a health reset, a mystery message I couldn’t decipher, a solar eclipse I completely missed, rebellious Thursday energy, newly dyed hair, contaminated prawns, a birthday mug 3 months early, a courier who was apparently working to his own Universal Day 5 energy, and a muffin in a mug that frankly should never have left the kitchen.
Anyway, let’s get this newsletter started…
Monday
Monday was a Universal Day 1, and I suppose there was a sort of first, and definitely a beginning.
It was the first time I had got weighed in quite a long time and, much to my surprise, I had lost a little weight.
Nothing to write home about, but enough to add to my gratitude list.
My friend was also celebrating four years as a Reiki Master, and I was the lucky person to receive a free healing from her.
Brilliant.
I also received confirmation that it’s time…,
… time I laughed more, time I found joy in every day and time for self-love.
I took it as a little nudge that I’ve made the right decision to tackle my health and wellbeing head on.
Starting with some weight loss…
I’ll keep you posted on that one.
Tuesday
I crashed at lunchtime.
And again early evening.
Energy levels were definitely down, and yet…
… somewhere, between slumps…,
…I hula-hooped my way to a genius idea.
I can’t wait to share it in the Passport Office.
I would have already shared it there, were it not for hen parties, weddings, courses and an art exhibit.
I’m not kidding.
That group has everything going on.
Anyway…,
…I decided to hold off until this coming week for the ‘Great Big Onion Experiment.’
Yes.
You read that correctly.
More about that next week.
Probably.
Wednesday
Today was ‘World Elephant Day’
A day about the giant beast that never forgets.
Well, what a shame some of that didn’t rub off on me!
I left myself a cryptic message, and was supposed to contact…
???
Yep,
That’s right
I couldn’t remember who I was supposed to contact, and I couldn’t work out the code to my own ramblings!
So, whoever you are, if you were expecting a call from me on Wednesday…
Apologies,
And I’m blaming the solar eclipse.
Which incidentally I missed!
Thursday
Isn’t Thursday energy generally supposed to be about expansion, abundance, good fortune, and the element fire?
Well, excuse me, but I appear to have not been included.
For the past few Thursdays, I’ve been hitting a brick wall.
And even when I set myself an intention, it seems to be scuppered before I’ve even had a chance to say ‘Jack shit!’
I’m beginning to think Thursday has something against me.
I’ll keep you posted.
Friday
I took a chance and dyed my hair.
I’m not sure why I thought that would help with anything, but I did it anyway.
Mid-morning, and I’m not feeling any 'Mick Jagger' vibes, but I’m heading off to meet a friend for lunch.
Surprisingly, I stuck to my eating plan.
Shrimps only for my main, and I refused the cheesecake.
Even a shared cheesecake.
This is serious, people.
It would have been lovely if they had only cleaned the flipping guts out of the shrimps before serving.
Food aside, my friend surprised me with a beautiful mug for my birthday.
As if I don’t get confused enough…,
My birthday is November.
So which one?
I couldn’t be sure.
I left our lovely get together earlier than planned to be back in time for the courier.
I had received word that my ‘Your Life Book’ was arriving at 4p.m.
Exciting.
Driving home, at 3.50pm, almost there…
A notification.
The courier was early.
Hard luck.
My book was returned to the depot and would have to be collected by me the following day.
I thanked the Universal 5 energy for the last-minute change, repeated a few precepts and collected my book Saturday morning.
Saturday
‘Muffin in a Mug’
Have you ever heard of it?
This is going to be my ‘can’t be bothered to go to the kitchen and cook properly’ option as I aim my fat backside in the direction of health and wellbeing.
I won’t bore you with the details.
It was an absolute disaster, my muffin in a mug.
A cup of slop.
Which I ate anyway because I didn’t have a Plan B.
It was Saturday afternoon.
It was the weekend.
I was weary.
And besides, who was it said ‘what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger?’
Next time will be better.
Probably.
Sunday
I cheated!
I might as well get it out there.
Early dinner…,
… and four strawberries!
Now I know it’s not crime of the century, but it felt big.
Anyway
That’s just a quick recap of my week!
Midweek Musings:
Tuesday was officially Day One of my health and wellbeing reset.
I’m shakily optimistic.
I’ve been here before.
Many times.
But one of these times…,
…so why not this time?
I’m overweight, I’m feeling the tweaks, I’m clocking on and I need to be able to live
every day I have to the max.
I have such a lot to do this lifetime.
And I don’t want to spend the next few years putting things off until I’m thinner, fitter, more organised, more confident, more financially secure or whatever other imaginary version of ‘ready’ I think I need to become.
I want to live now.
So, I’ve bought the book.
I’ve filled a notebook with tips and tricks, menu’s, micro’s and macro’s.
I’ve made notes.
I’ve planned.
I’m as ready as I can be.
And yes, I know I’ve said all this before.
But perhaps that’s the point.
Starting again doesn’t mean the previous attempts were failures.
Maybe, they were just my practices.
Maybe, I just wasn’t ready then.
And maybe…,
…this time I am.
It feels like the Universe has given me it’s blessing as we come to the end of Week 33, in a Universal Year 1.
August is a great month to let go of the old and make way to bring in the new.
And, oh boy…,
… have I got some stuff to let go of.
Not just weight.
Old habits.
Old thinking.
Old excuses.
Old versions of me that have done their job and can now kindly take their coats and leave.
Because I have things to do 😊
The end of last week:
Starting again doesn’t necessarily feel inspirational.
Sometimes it feels like standing on the scales and wondering if you’re brave enough to take a look.
Sometimes it looks like refusing cheesecake.
Sometimes it looks like eating four strawberries and calling it a ‘rebellion’.
Sometimes it will look like a cup of slop because your muffin has gone horribly wrong.
And sometimes, apparently, it looks like being given a beautiful birthday mug three months before your actual birthday.
I haven’t transformed my life this week.
I haven’t suddenly become the woman who gets up at 5am, drinks green juice and lovingly prepares seventeen perfectly balanced meals for the week.
Thank Goodness.
But I have started.
And perhaps that’s enough for now.
Because maybe that’s what the Universal Year-1 is really reminding me.
You don’t have to know exactly where you’re going.
You just have to be willing to take the next step.
Even if the next step took you towards ‘four strawberries’. 😊
☕ Two Questions For You…
1, What have you started…, or started again…, recently?
It doesn’t have to be huge.
A new habit.
An old dream.
Picking up a book.
Clearing a cupboard.
Making ‘that’ decision – I would love to know.
2, What’s the most ridiculous thing that’s happened to you this week?
Because honestly…
…I think we need to know. 😊
OK, before we head off into ‘What’s New, let’s take a peek at this coming weeks numbers.
🔢 The Numbers for the Week Ahead:
Numerology Snapshot: 17 - 23 Aug.
Monday – Universal Day 8
Tuesday – Universal Day 9
Wednesday – Universal Day. 1
Thursday – Universal Day 2
Friday – Universal Day 3
Saturday – Universal Day 4
Sunday – Universal Day 5
Quick summary:
Well, this is interesting.
We begin the week with 8 energy, move through the letting-go energy of 9, land on a fresh 1 in the middle of the week, and then wander through 2,3,4 and 5.
In other words: Power – Release – Beginning – Connection – Creativity – Foundations – Freedom.
Which sounds beautifully balanced.
Until you remember that we’re talking about real life.
So, expect at least one person to lose their keys, change their mind, start a diet, abandon it by Thursday and re-organise their art box instead.
It could be me 😊 but it won’t be me 😊
