Weekly Whispers - Week Beginning 05 October 2026

Weekly Whispers – The Week I Nearly Scrapped the Newsletter – again! LOL.

Forgiveness, abundance, cookies, a billy goat and the small matter of becoming a better version of me…

As always, a little ‘Hello from Me’…

I nearly didn't write this week's newsletter.

Not because nothing happened.

Quite the opposite really.

Too much happened, none of it in a particularly orderly fashion, and my journal has been looking at me accusingly from the corner of the room…, so no help there. 😂

I decided, instead of pretending I've spent the week floating serenely from one profound realisation to another, and I’ll just try and say it as it was.

There was Money Reiki, the elements, my Blue Pool, pebbles, bedtime wobbles, readings, almond butter, a couple of unexpected kitchen successes and, quite randomly, the beginnings of a new local women's group.

Oh, and cookies.

Very good cookies.

More about those later.

It all started with a thought that kept coming back to me:

‘Belief will make everything possible.’

Or, as my scarce notes put it:

‘Thoughts attract. Thoughts create.’

That got me thinking.

And on Tuesday, while journaling about what I might be holding onto too tightly, I noticed something else a bit interesting.

I begin 101 sentences a day with ‘I need to…’

I need to do this.

I need to sort that.

I need to get on top of…

I need to remember…

I need to…

Except, when I really looked at it, an awful lot of those sentences weren't actually things I needed to do at all.

They were things I had decided I should be doing.

And there's a subtle difference don’t you think?.

One creates movement.

The other can create pressure...,

It does.

And perhaps, sometimes, the first thing we need to release isn't the thing on our to-do list…

It's releasing the belief that we have to do everything in the first place.

Well anyway,

That opened a door, for sure…,

… and apparently my week decided to walk straight through it.

This was a Week that went directly from Reiki to Cookies…, and no passing ‘Go’.

Wednesday  brought a lovely catch-up with friends, an Oracle card reading and even better still, by lunchtime, I was back home lighting scented candles in practically every room.

I was relaxed.

I was forgiving.

I was also forgiving myself for what can only be described as an abysmal attempt at staying on top of healthy eating this week.

So, I did what any sane woman in her sixties would do.

I baked cookies, of course.

Healthy cookies, obviously.

Because that makes everything alright. 😂

And, oh boy, did they turn out well.

They weighed precisely 31 grams each of pure pleasure.

They didn't last.

Not even remotely.

And honestly?

I'm still asking myself why I made 31-gram cookies in the first place.

Was this some kind of mental challenge, or a numerological experiment?

Was I unconsciously creating perfectly measurable portions of temptation? If they were exact it would be OK…,

Or was I just hungry?

I suspect any and all of the above, and guess what: somehow my metabolic markers continued on their improvement journey!.

And then something strange happened…

Wednesday evening found me dragging my weary body into an online Money Reiki session.

I nearly didn't go.

You know those evenings when you're already in your pyjamas in your head?

That.

I joined anyway.

The meditation began and, I have to confess, I slept through quite a lot of it.

😂

However, during one of my brief periods of consciousness, something quite extraordinary happened.

I was taken back to being about nine or ten years old, standing in front of a church congregation, reciting a poem I'd had to learn.

And suddenly I could hear the words again:

Dark brown is the river,Golden is the sand…

It was Robert Louis Stevenson's Where Go the Boats?

Now, I hadn't thought about that poem for decades.

Not a little bit.

It had simply disappeared into the enormous filing cabinet that is my brain.

Until Wednesday evening.

Because, as part of the Money Reiki meditation, the lady guiding us took us to a river.

And we were invited to let little paper boats go onto the water.

I mean…

Come on. 😂

There I was, half asleep, floating little boats down a river in a meditation, while somewhere in the back of my mind a poem from when I was nine was suddenly shouting:

‘HELLO! REMEMBER ME?’

And perhaps the most interesting part is what the poem is actually about.

Boats are put onto the water.

They travel away.

We don't know exactly where they'll go.

And eventually, someone else brings them ashore.

Which suddenly felt connected to everything I've been thinking about this week.

Flow. Letting go. Forgiveness. Abundance. And what happens when we stop trying to control every destination.

Perhaps some things are meant to be released.

Perhaps some things are meant to be carried.

And perhaps some things simply need to be allowed to flow.

Perhaps that’s why I’m not scrapping this week’s newsletter after all…

Because somewhere amongst the cookies, the plank challenge, the forgiveness, the abundance, the water, the earth and everything else I’ve been pondering this week, there might actually be a story trying to emerge.

And perhaps I needed to stop trying so hard to find it.

💧 Meanwhile, back at the Blue Pool…

I’ve decided that my little Money Reiki experiment is continuing until the New Moon on 10 October.

I'm going to leave my elemental altar exactly as it is until then.

The Blue Pool is gradually filling with pebbles carrying the energies of each day, alongside my Money Reiki symbol and my core numbers.

And rather than simply adding them and moving on, I've decided I'm going to study them…,

Their positioning.

Which ones move.

Which ones end up beside each other.

What catches my eye.

And whether, when I sit quietly with them, they seem to tell me a story.

It may be intuitive.

It may be fanciful.

It may simply be my brain finding patterns because that's what brains do.

I'm completely happy with any of those explanations. 😂

Because sometimes the value isn't in proving something.

Sometimes it's in noticing what it makes you notice.

And I'm curious about what my little Blue Pool will have to say by the time we reach the New Moon, and I will be sharing 😊

Then came Saturday…, before I knew it…, and

A walk in the park.

Friends.

Conversation.

And a very unhealthy tray bake – not made by me but wouldn’t it have been rude not to have a slice?.

My healthy week was now officially on life support.

But Saturday also brought another discovery.

I have more facial hair than a bearded billy goat.

Yes.

It’s true!

I discovered this through my x10 magnifying mirror.

I spent a good thirty minutes examining the situation before deciding there was absolutely no point having lived this long if I couldn't occasionally have a good laugh at myself.

Then came the plank challenge.

I'd volunteered myself for this. A friend’s challenge – nothing to do with me…, it just seemed like a great idea.

A two-minute goal for the month.

My friend was attempting twenty seconds, and everyone was cheering her on.

So, I thought:

‘How difficult can it be?’

Around 30.67 seconds later, I discovered exactly how difficult it could be.

There I was.

Shaking.

Collapsing.

Wondering whether my abdominal muscles had ever actually existed.

😂

Apparently two minutes is a very long time when you're horizontal and discovering your life choices.

And then my week wrapped up with Sunday…

Sunday was when things got interesting.

The Ascended Masters came to the rescue, and two words kept circling around my mind:

Forgiveness.

and

Abundance.

Over and over.

And I began wondering whether the two might actually be connected.

At the same time, I was becoming increasingly drawn towards Water and Earth as I worked with the elements around my Money Reiki altar.

Water.

Earth.

Flow.

Stability.

Receiving.

Nourishment.

Letting go.

And eventually, Sunday afternoon, I couldn't shake the feeling that I needed to look into it properly.

So, in true Shaz fashion, I pulled the car over and googled it there and then. 😂

And this is what I found:

💧 Water — West: emotions, cleansing, flow.

🌍 Earth — North: abundance, stability, fertility, prosperity.

Well then.

That got my attention.

Because maybe abundance isn't just about getting more, I never thought it was.

But it does have something to do with what we're prepared to receive, hold, nurture, release and allow to flow.

And I suspect forgiveness belongs in there too.

Forgiving ourselves for the cookies.(It’s become a ‘royal’ ourselves 😊)

Forgiving ourselves for not doing everything.

Forgiving ourselves for the things we didn't know then that we know now.

Forgiving ourselves for being human.

Anyway, it has been some week.

☕ Midweek Musings...

Or, more accurately… Where the heck has this week gone?

Do you ever have one of those weeks where you seem to have lived seven different lives, and yet if somebody asks what you've actually accomplished, you stare blankly at them?

That.

This week has been a mixture of reflection, friends, food, Reiki, numerology, elements, candles, pebbles, laughter and the occasional moment of:

‘Oh, for goodness' sake, what am I doing?’

And actually, I'm beginning to think those weeks are important.

Because life isn't always a tidy lesson, not for any of us.

Sometimes it's a collection of apparently unrelated moments that only make sense when you stand back far enough to see the pattern.

And perhaps that's what numerology, Reiki, friends…, all do for me.

They help me step back.

Not to predict what's going to happen.

But to notice what's already happening.

☕ Two Questions for You…

I've been asking myself these this week, so perhaps you can have a little ponder too.

1. Where are you beginning sentences with ‘I need to…’  when what you really mean is ‘I think I should…’?

And…

2. What might you be able to forgive yourself for this week?

Not because it wasn't important.

Not because it didn't matter.

But because carrying it around isn't helping you move forward.

Sometimes putting something down creates more space than trying to carry it better.

🔢 The Numbers for the Week Ahead

Numerology Snapshot: 05–11 October

Let's see what the coming week has in store.

Monday — Universal Day 7Reflection, introspection, looking beneath the surface.

Tuesday — Universal Day 8Power, material matters, responsibility, money and abundance.

Wednesday — Universal Day 9Completion, compassion, release and making space.

Thursday — Universal Day 1Beginnings, ideas, independence and taking that first step.

Friday — Universal Day 2Connection, patience, cooperation and receptivity.

Saturday — Universal Day 3Expression, creativity, communication and perhaps a little fun.

Sunday — Universal Day 4Grounding, structure, practical action and building something that lasts.

The bigger picture?

I'm liking this sequence.

We begin by looking inward.

Then we move into 8 and the material world.

Then 9 asks us what we're ready to release.

And suddenly we're at 1 — a new beginning.

Then 2 invites us to connect and receive.

3 lets us express and create.

And finally, 4 brings us back down to earth.

Remember to think of the Universal numbers as the weather map.

That's the landscape we're all moving through.

But how you experience that weather will depend entirely on your own personal energies, your circumstances and the numbers you carry.

So don't look at a Universal 8 and assume everyone is going to have the same abundance experience.

We're not.

We're all walking through the same weather in very different shoes.

🔢 And then, I can't finish without mentioning all those 1s…, I’d love to hear what you make of them.

I've been noticing this week coming….

We're already in a Universal Year 1, and October is a Universal Month 1.

So, there is already a strong background of beginnings, ideas, independence and new directions.

But look at some of the dates/numbers coming up when we calculate the Universal Daily Weather Map..

Friday 9 + 1 + 1 = (11) 2

Then Saturday brings the 10th, alongside the 1 of the month and 1 of the year.

And Sunday?

11 + 1 + 1 = (13) 4

That's an awful lot of little ‘1’s showing up in the calendar.

And I  like what that suggests.

Not necessarily ‘something enormous is about to happen!’

More:

Some ‘thing’ beginning?

What idea keeps tapping you on the shoulder?

What have you been waiting for someone else to start?

What might happen if you stopped waiting and took the first little step yourself?

Because that's possibly the beauty of a 1.

It doesn't necessarily ask you to have the whole plan.

It just asks you to begin.

And don’t forget – this is the weather map – let your own numbers guide the way.

🌻 What's New This Week at Four Seasons?

My little Money Reiki + Elements experiment is continuing.

The Blue Pool is growing one pebble at a time, with my Money Reiki symbol, my core numbers and each day's Universal and Personal energy joining the water.

And now the other elements are beginning to appear around my little elephant table altar too.

Water. Fire. Earth. Air. Wood. Metal

And I'm beginning to wonder whether this experiment is actually becoming something much bigger than I originally intended.

Because the more I play with it, the more I'm thinking about flow, abundance, receiving, action, grounding, release and transformation.

Which brings me back to that question I've been carrying all week:

What am I actually igniting?

I already know my answer.

A better version of me. I’ve mentioned this here and there this week.

Not a perfect version.

Not a completely reinvented version. Just a better one.

And I’m hopeful that's enough.

And Finally…

If you've made it this far, thank you. 😂

This was almost the week that didn't make it into a newsletter.

But I think it needed to.

It seems I did have something to say after all. :)

I think we sometimes want to wait until we've had the perfect week before we tell our story.

Like...

The week where we've eaten perfectly.

Exercised perfectly.

Journaled every morning.

Meditated peacefully.

Completed the to-do list.

And generally behaved like a woman who has her sh*t together.

I didn't have that week. 😊 😊

I had cookies.

I had facial hair.

I had a failed plank.

I had questions.

I had candles.

I had pebbles.

I had some really interesting thoughts about forgiveness and abundance.

And somewhere in amongst all of it, I had a few moments where I remembered that life isn't something we have to get perfectly right.

We're allowed to keep becoming.

One day.

One choice.

One little realisation at a time.

So, if your week hasn't gone quite according to plan either…

welcome to the club.

The kettle's on. ☕😂

Thank you for being here and for continuing to share this journey with me.

Whether you've been reading for years, arrived last week or are quietly lurking in the background with a cup of tea, I'm very glad you're here.

I'll see you next week.

Much love,

Shaz xx 🌻
